Retrieve · notice · justify

Turn a short opinion into a complete answerحَوِّلِ الرَّأْيَ القَصِيرَ إِلَى إِجَابَةٍ كَامِلَةٍ

A justified opinion names the subject and explains the reason. The subject’s grammatical gender controls the pronoun and the adjective.

By the end
  • Ask لِمَاذَا؟ and answer with a complete reason.
  • Choose لِأَنَّهُ for masculine subjects and لِأَنَّهَا for feminine subjects.
  • Use the complete reason-adjective bank accurately.
  • Understand reasons in listening and reading.
  • Write and speak several connected justified opinions.
Success routes
CoreBuild three accurate opinions with reasons.
DevelopUse varied reason adjectives and one richer لِأَنَّنِي reason.
StretchGive balanced opinions using contrast and two reasons.

Question · opinion · reason

Master the reason sentence systemأَتْقِنْ نِظَامَ جُمْلَةِ السَّبَبِ

The listener’s gender changes the question. The subject’s gender changes the reason pronoun and adjective.

Ask one maleلِمَاذَا تُحِبُّ العُلُومَ؟
Ask one femaleلِمَاذَا تُحِبِّينَ العُلُومَ؟
Masculine subjectأُحِبُّ الفَنَّ لِأَنَّهُ إِبْدَاعِيٌّ.
Feminine subjectأُحِبُّ العُلُومَ لِأَنَّهَا مُفِيدَةٌ.
Decision 1

Who are you asking?

Use تُحِبُّ for one male listener and تُحِبِّينَ for one female listener.

Decision 2

What subject are you describing?

Use لِأَنَّهُ + masculine adjective or لِأَنَّهَا + feminine adjective.

Common mistake

The speaker’s gender does not control لِأَنَّهُ / لِأَنَّهَا. The subject noun controls it.
