Polite Classroom Arabic لُغَةُ الأَدَبِ فِي الصَّفِّ

Ask for help, borrow classroom items, enter or leave politely, apologise, thank someone and respond appropriately. Every phrase in this lesson is designed for real classroom communication and independent revision.

Learn these as useful whole phrases. Do not wait until every grammar detail is familiar before using them.

Pronunciation pattern

Hear the final ـًا

شُكْرًا، عَفْوًا، جَزِيلًا، مَعْذِرَةً finish with an -an sound in careful speech. This is tanwīn fatḥ, but at Foundation level the priority is accurate recognition and pronunciation.

Look at the person you are speaking to

Choose مِنْ فَضْلِكَ / تَفَضَّلْ for one male, and مِنْ فَضْلِكِ / تَفَضَّلِي for one female.

Common mistake

Do not choose ـكَ / ـكِ from your own gender

The ending follows the person you are addressing. A girl speaking to a male teacher still says مِنْ فَضْلِكَ.

Write a complete polite classroom dialogueاُكْتُبْ حِوَارًا صَفِّيًّا مُهَذَّبًا

Choose your route: type, write or draw on screen, or write on paper. Your dialogue should make sense without a teacher beside you.

الطَّالِبَةُ: مَعْذِرَةً، أُرِيدُ قَلَمَ رَصَاصٍ، مِنْ فَضْلِكِ.
