Advanced clock time: past, to and 24-hour schedules
قِرَاءَةُ الوَقْتِ المُتَقَدِّمَةُ
Arabic time expressions require two decisions: whether the minutes come after the current hour with وَ, or count down to the next hour with إِلَّا. Formal timetables may use 24-hour time, while conversation often adds صَبَاحًا or مَسَاءً.

يَبْدَأُ الدَّوَامُ فِي الثَّامِنَةِ وَخَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ دَقِيقَةً.

يَنْتَهِي فِي الرَّابِعَةِ إِلَّا عَشْرَ دَقَائِقَ.
It ends at 3:50.Name the next hour with إِلَّا.

In a timetable, state the numbered hour directly. In everyday speech, you may convert it to 2:30 p.m.
