Place and condition

يَعْمَلُ فِي + مَكَانٍ + صِفَةٍ

Describe the location, then add an agreeing adjective.

يَعْمَلُ فِي مَكْتَبٍ حَدِيثٍ.تَعْمَلُ فِي بِيئَةٍ آمِنَةٍ.

Relative clause

مَكَانٌ الَّذِي / بِيئَةٌ الَّتِي

Use الذي for masculine and التي for feminine antecedents.

المَكْتَبُ الَّذِي أَعْمَلُ فِيهِالشَّرِكَةُ الَّتِي تُوَفِّرُ تَدْرِيبًا

Advantages and disadvantages

مِنْ مَزَايَا ... أَنَّ / مِنْ عُيُوبِ ... أَنَّ

Use a noun phrase followed by أنَّ and a complete clause.

مِنْ مَزَايَا العَمَلِ أَنَّ سَاعَاتِهِ مَرِنَةٌ.مِنْ عُيُوبِهِ أَنَّهُ مُجْهِدٌ.

Contrast

بَيْنَمَا / وَلٰكِنَّ

Use بينما to compare two situations and لكنّ to qualify a statement.

الرَّاتِبُ مُرْتَفِعٌ، وَلٰكِنَّ السَّاعَاتِ طَوِيلَةٌ.أَعْمَلُ فِي مَكْتَبٍ، بَيْنَمَا يَعْمَلُ أَخِي فِي الهَوَاءِ الطَّلْقِ.
