Form V combines an initial ت with a doubled middle root consonant. Its present pattern is يَتَفَعَّلُ. Unlike Form II, its present begins with يَـ rather than يُـ in the third-person masculine singular.

Notice the relationship: عَلَّمَ means to teach; تَعَلَّمَ means to learn. This is a useful Form II–V relationship, but not every Form V is reflexive in the English sense.

Look closely: تَعَلَّمَ → يَتَعَلَّمُ → أَتَعَلَّمُ. The initial ت belongs to the stem; the أ or ي before it identifies the person.

Do not treat every initial ت as the feminine or second-person present prefix. In تَعَلَّمَ, it is part of the derived stem.
