التَّعْبِيرُ عَنِ الوُجُودِ بِـ يُوجَدُ وَتُوجَدُ
F6 begins by turning place nouns into accurate town descriptions. The formal present passive agrees with the grammatical gender of the place: يُوجَدُ with a masculine noun and تُوجَدُ with a feminine noun. هُنَاكَ is also useful and does not change.
What does the structure communicate?

Can you use it with new vocabulary?
Masculine place → يُوجَدُ.
Feminine place → تُوجَدُ.
هُنَاكَ does not change.
Add a preposition for precision.
يُوجَدُ + اِسْمٌ مُذَكَّرٌ
The verb form begins with يُـ because the following place noun is masculine. The place is normally indefinite when you introduce it for the first time.
تُوجَدُ + اِسْمٌ مُؤَنَّثٌ
Many place nouns ending in ـة are feminine. The verb therefore begins with تُـ.
هُنَاكَ + اِسْمٌ نَكِرَةٌ
هُنَاكَ means “there is / there are”. It stays the same with masculine and feminine nouns.
يُوجَدُ / تُوجَدُ + مَكَانٌ + فِي / بِجَانِبِ
A complete description can name the place, add an adjective and locate it.
| Noun type | Correct form | Model |
|---|---|---|
| masculine | يُوجَدُ | يُوجَدُ مَسْجِدٌ. |
| feminine | تُوجَدُ | تُوجَدُ مَكْتَبَةٌ. |
| either | هُنَاكَ | هُنَاكَ مَسْجِدٌ وَمَكْتَبَةٌ. |
Learn place nouns as usable chunks, including their gender and a model adjective.
The formal forms يُوجَدُ and تُوجَدُ are especially useful in descriptive reading and writing, while هُنَاكَ is a flexible everyday alternative.
