لِلْأَعْيَادِ وَالتَّقَالِيدِ دَوْرٌ مُهِمٌّ فِي حَيَاةِ الشُّعُوبِ. فَهِيَ تَرْبِطُ الأَجْيَالَ بِبَعْضِهَا، وَتَنْقُلُ القِيَمَ وَالعَادَاتِ مِنَ الآبَاءِ إِلَى الأَبْنَاءِ. كَمَا أَنَّهَا فُرْصَةٌ لِلْفَرَحِ وَلَمِّ الشَّمْلِ. وَمَعَ أَنَّ العَالَمَ يَتَغَيَّرُ، تَبْقَى التَّقَالِيدُ جُزْءًا مِنْ هُوِيَّتِنَا.
